Description

Feline herpesvirus (FHV-1) is a large virus (100~130nm in diameter) with an envelope and double-stranded DNA.

It multiplies in the nucleus and forms an intranuclear inclusion body, which can cause feline rhinotracheitis, conjunctivitis and keratitis.

Feline herpesvirus is extremely unstable in acid and is very sensitive to heat, ether, chloroform, formalin and phenol. It can survive in a dry environment for a maximum of 12 hours.

Therefore, the virus is very fragile in the environment, and common disinfectants can effectively disinfect it.
